Head of the Corporate Law Department and founder of the firm, Me Haddad is a member of the Bar of Beirut (1979), the Canadian Bar Association (1991) and the Bar of Quebec (1992). His vast experience of international law dates back to the beginnings of his law studies.
A graduate from St. Joseph University’s Faculty of Law (cum laude), he furthered his studies by obtaining a Bachelor’s of French Law diploma from the Université de Lyon in France. An Excellency Scholarship from the French Foreign Ministry lead him to a Master’s degree in comparative law from the Université de Paris II and a Diploma of advanced studies (DEA) in International Private Law from the Université de Paris II.
Aside from his professional obligations, Mr. Haddad has taught two law courses at the Faculty of Law of Université Sagesse in Beirut (Comparative corporate and partnerships law, and principles of conflict of laws international private law).
His knowledge and familiarity with Canadian, French, Lebanese and Middle Eastern laws allow clients to benefit from a wealth of experience. Many major pan Arab and multinational corporations have seen fit to name him to their board of directors or as their legal advisor.
Me. Haddad’s passion in life is furthered outside of the firm. Being an active man he’s a dedicated athlete and enjoys all manners of sports. In fact his sports achievements is a testament to such dedication and furthermore puts the younger male members of the firm to shame!! They just can’t keep up!
Mr. Joseph Haddad, will be on a sabbatical leave starting June 2007. He will join MAF Development, a leading Dubai-based regional real estate development company as a senior legal consultant. Mr. Elias Hamush and Mr. Elya Haber will take over Mr. Haddad’s duties.
